1. Temporary Staff
Temporary employees may be placed on assignment for various lengths of time for many different reasons. If a receptionist is going on vacation for two weeks, a temporary staff member may fill in. If a company needs help with a special project that, once completed, they no longer need staff for, they may choose the temporary option.
Some employers have indefinite temporary employees, which means that they continue to be payrolled through us, the staffing company. Temporary opportunities are wonderful for job seekers looking for a short-term way to make some extra money or who need flexibility in their schedule. It is also a great way to discover if a job is the right fit for you. Most temporary positions do not have benefits, however through Labor Staffing Solutions if you are on a temporary assignment for more than 90 days, you may be eligible.
2. Temp to Perm
“Temp to Perm” positions, or “Temp to Hire,” are those which start temporarily with the opportunity for direct hire after a specific increment of time. This is typically 90 days. Temp to Perm opportunities are great options for employers, as it allows them to test out a potential employee’s compatibility with the company. If they are interested in a candidate who does not have as much experience, for example, setting a 90 day trial period gives the employer the chance to see if they will rise to the occasion and gives the employee the chance to feel out if the job is a good fit for their career goals.
Usually, benefits are not offered during the limited trial period. Often benefits and a raise are offered once employers choose to hire employees. Employees are payrolled through Labor Staffing Solutions until they are hired directly by the host company.
3. Direct Hire
Just like it sounds, direct hire positions are those with no trial period. Employees are hired directly into the company after the interview and onboarding process is completed. Employees are never payrolled through Labor Staffing Solutions. These positions are typically for long-term opportunities in which the employer envisions a long career for the employee. Whether benefits are offered depends on the company’s internal policies but is oftentimes the case for Direct Hire positions. Direct Hire positions are great options for those looking to jump into a long-lasting career.
